Recommendations for the correct intake of liquids

One should drink daily about 1.5 – 2 litres of a sugar-free, low energy liquid.

Best adapted for this need are: water, mineral water, non-sweetened tea. Softdrinks, fruit juices, fruit nectars or sirupes are not appropriate. Sweet drinks cause a dramatic increase of the blood sugar and should be drunk by diabetics only in case of hypoglycaemia! Only then fruit juices are optimal to cover quickly for hypoglycaemia.

Alcohol is a stimulant and should only be drunk in small amounts to avoid hypoglycemia. Danger of hypoglycaemia increases dramatically with the amount of drunken alcohol! Sweet drinks and alcohol as well contain a lot of calories and cause increase of the weight.
